The magic begins when you pick up a book…
“Believe…The Magic of Fairytales” is January’s theme in the Jefferson Public Library children’s department. Children can spy Cinderella’s slipper, Ariel’s fork (hairbrush), Aladdin’s magic lamp, and more during the “I Spy” contests.
Children in grades 2-5 are invited to pick up a reading and activity packet and read about Rapunzel, Jack in the Beanstalk, and other fairy tales! This FREE program is offered in January only. When children complete the packet, their name will be placed in a drawing for a chance to win prizes and a chance to join staff for a Wonderland Sleepover Party at the library.
Children 4 years through 6th grade may join staff for mystery movies on Wednesdays, Jan. 15 and 29, from 3 to 4:30 pm. Clues for the movies…the Mad Hatter and King Arthur. Pre-registering early is recommended.
Children 3-6 years old child can get excited about books and reading with the Ready Readers Story Time. This program will be held on Wednesdays, Jan. 22 through March 12, from 10 to 11 am. While attending story time, children 6 years and younger will need a parent or responsible caregiver to remain in the building until the conclusion of the program. A play area will be available for babies and little ones not quite ready for Story Time.
